We are very excited to welcome Principal Espinosa to Andrew Jackson this year. Here is some more information about our new principal:
Kelly Espinosa began her career at Gotwals Elementary in Norristown, Pennsylvania in 2009. In 2010, she was hired as a bilingual 2nd grade teacher at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School, an Aspira of Pennsylvania Charter School located in Philadelphia. In 2014, she was recruited by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction of Aspira Schools to help open a K-12 Charter School in Allentown, Pennsylvania. During this process, Mrs. Espinosa wrote curriculum maps for various K-12 courses, aiding Executive Education Academy Charter School (EEACS) to become the only new charter school approved for opening in Pennsylvania for the 2014-2015 school year. In her capacity of instructional coach, Mrs. Espinosa was directly involved in the creation, implementation, and the refinement of the academic program at EEACS and served as the direct supervisor of instruction. She developed and implemented professional development sessions and individualized coaching plans to support teacher growth, utilized data to make informed decisions, worked with families and the community to increase engagement, and helped support the daily operations and management of students and staff.
Mrs. Espinosa holds a certificate in Elementary Education K-6 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s in Education with a Reading Specialist PK-12 certificate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and a Post-Master’s Principal PK-12 certificate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She enjoys spending time with her husband, a Philadelphia School District teacher, and her 22-month old son.
